Salonga National Park at international biodiversity conference

ICCN and WWF presented Salonga National Park’s conservation approach at the 14th Conference of Parties of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD COP14) in Sharm el Sheik, Egypt.

Benoit Kisuki, ICCN’s Director of Finance and Administration and CorPPN General Aguru emphasized the role of communities play in successful conservation in and around the park. They presented the main pillars of ICCN’s Community Conservation Strategy and how this plays out in Salonga.

The discussion was part of a one day event organized by WWF-International that examined the role of nature for Africa’s development and infrastructure.
